South Africa announced a new covid variant on Thursday but within 2 days, the same variant was found in 2 more countries, Belgium and Israel. Few more countries are also claiming to find the cases of the same variant. Reports say that this variant is potentially more dangerous than previous variants, including the Delta variant. Few countries started imposing restrictions on affected regions. All these steps are affecting the stock market as well.
World Health Organisation (WHO) declared this variant as a Variation Of Concern and given the name Omicron. This variant is infecting fully vaccinated people as well. Few countries are planning for 3rd booster dose for the covid vaccine. This variant can be a cause of worry in the coming few months but it will depend on the assessment of its nature. As of now, there is no study that suggests how severe this variant is but still, we urge our brother and sisters to follow all covid protocols suggested by the government.
